The Gemini CLI connects to SeekOut MCP over Streamable HTTP and discovers the OAuth configuration automatically, so there is no client ID or secret to enter.
Gemini Enterprise and the Antigravity IDE are set up differently. See Gemini Enterprise and Antigravity.

Prerequisites

  • An active SeekOut account
  • The Gemini CLI installed

Setup

1

Add the SeekOut server

--scope user writes the server to ~/.gemini/settings.json so it’s available everywhere. Use --scope project to write it to .gemini/settings.json for the current project instead. You can also edit ~/.gemini/settings.json directly. Streamable HTTP servers use the httpUrl key:
2

Sign in to SeekOut

Start the Gemini CLI and run:
The CLI opens your browser to complete the SeekOut sign-in.
3

Verify the connection

Or run /mcp inside the CLI to see the SeekOut tools.
4

Start using SeekOut MCP

Use SeekOut to find product designers in Portland with B2B SaaS experience.

You can access only the data and actions allowed by your SeekOut role.

Troubleshooting

The CLI returns a 401 or prompts repeatedly

Run /mcp auth seekout-search and complete the browser sign-in. Restart the CLI afterward so it reloads the server.

The server connects but has no tools

Check that the entry in settings.json uses httpUrl rather than url. The url key is for SSE endpoints and does not work with the SeekOut Streamable HTTP server. See the Gemini CLI MCP documentation for full details.
