Do I need a new license to use MCP?

No. MCP access is included with your existing SeekOut Recruit license. MCP provides another way to use SeekOut, but it does not expand your subscription: you can access only the talent data sources (verticals) and integrations included in your organization’s SeekOut product entitlements, subject to your user permissions. For example, Recruit Core includes public profiles, GitHub, and Academic & Expert search, but not Healthcare or Nursing search. Those sources require the Healthcare search entitlement. ATS pipeline search requires an ATS integration and a connected ATS. See Talent data sources and entitlements for the complete mapping, or contact SeekOut Support or your SeekOut account team to confirm your access.

Can non-recruiters on my team use this?

Yes. Hiring managers, sourcers, HR business partners, and anyone with a SeekOut account can connect. They see only the data their permissions allow. It is especially useful for hiring managers who want to review pipeline candidates or explore talent markets without learning the SeekOut UI.

Does it work with my existing SeekOut setup?

Yes. MCP connects to your existing Recruit license, workspaces, power filters, ATS connections, and credits. Anything you do in MCP shows up in Recruit, and vice versa. Some enterprise AI platforms, including Gemini Enterprise, may require an admin setup step first.

Which AI assistants are supported?

Any MCP-compatible AI assistant works, including Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Amazon Quick, and more. Check with your AI provider for MCP support details and plan requirements.

How long does it take to roll out?

Self-service assistants can be connected in minutes. Enterprise-managed platforms such as Gemini Enterprise may require coordination with SeekOut and your platform administrator so the connector is available to the right app, agent, or user group.

Data and actions

MCP supports five specialized talent data sources: public profiles, GitHub developers, academic researchers and patent holders, healthcare providers, and nursing professionals. If your organization has an entitled, connected ATS integration, MCP can also search your talent pipeline. Support in MCP does not automatically entitle every organization to every source. Your available sources are limited to the verticals and integrations included in your SeekOut subscription and allowed by your user permissions. Can it export to our ATS?

Yes. If your ATS is connected to SeekOut (Greenhouse, Lever, and others), you can push candidates directly from the conversation. You can also export to Excel or Google Sheets.

How many candidates can I see in the conversation?

Results are returned in pages, and your assistant can page through up to 200 candidates in the conversation. For a complete list, ask your assistant to export the results to Excel or Google Sheets with the export tool, which is not limited to the paged view.

How do I revoke access?

Can we authenticate without browser sign-in?

Yes — though not with a static API key. For automated, non-interactive workflows, SeekOut provisions OAuth 2.0 automated workflow credentials: a client ID and secret you exchange for a short-lived token. See API access for automated workflows for setup, or contact SeekOut Support to provision them.
